There can be many reasons for your device to overheat, none of which are good for the overall health of your device. Getting to the bottom of these issues and fixing your overheating laptop is a service that we provide.
How Do I Know if my Laptop is Overheating?
The name overheating is a little bit misleading, as you may not notice a substantial change in the temperature of your device. The reason that your computer may not be warm is that there are safeguards in place that turn the device off at a certain temperature. This is in place to preventing further damage to the device or even causing a fire in your home.
If your fan is making strange noises, running constantly or even if your device is just turning itself off at random then overheating could be the cause. This may seem like something that you think you could live with but it can cause unseen havoc inside your device.
Tips to Prevent Overheating in the Long Term
If you have a newer laptop, or one that isn’t exhibiting these symptoms, then you want to keep this problem from happening. Here are our tips to prevent overheating in future:
• Keep your fan unobstructed, either from hard or soft furnishings. Dust and fluff can build up in the fan and prevent a serious danger, even a fire hazard.
• Don’t mess with settings that you don’t understand and don’t attempt to overclock your device, as this will void your warranty and can cause damage.
